The Application of Corundum Block

Corundum block is a type of refractory product composed of corundum as the main crystalline phase with an Al2O3 content of over 90%.
Corundum block has high compressive strength at room temperature (up to 340MPa) and high softening starting temperature under load(greater than 1700 ℃). It has good chemical stability and strong corrosion resistance to acidic or basic slag, metal and glass fluid, etc... Its thermal shock resistance is related to its structure. Dense blocks have good corrosion resistance but bad thermal shock resistance.
Corundum block can be divided into sintered corundum block and fused corundum block. They are respectively made of sintered alumina and fused corundum or bauxite with a ratio of Al2O3 / SiO2 and sintered alumina.
Corundum block is mainly used in the blast furnaces, hot blast furnaces, refining furnaces, steelmaking furnaces, water slide, glass furnaces and petrochemical industrial furnaces. It is widely used in the cracking in the petrochemical and fertilizer industries, reformers, metallurgical industry and other high-temperature furnace lining and kiln furniture.
