Electric fused brick is also called fused zirconium corundum brick. The English abbreviation is AZS. It is arranged according to the three chemical components of the Al2O3-ZrO2-SiO2 ternary phase diagram.
 
Al2O3 takes A, ZrO2 takes Z, and SiO2 takes S. National standards use this abbreviation,
for example, No. 33 fused cast zirconium alumina brick, abbreviated as AZS-33 #, No. 36 fused cast zirconium alumina brick, abbreviated as AZS-36 #, and 41 No. Zirconium corundum brick, abbreviated as AZS-41 #.


 
The manufacturing process of fused brick is to mix selected zircon sand and industrial alumina powder in a ratio of 1: 1, plus a small amount of NaZO (added in the form of sodium carbonate) and B2O (added in the form of boric acid or borax). Mix evenly. After melting and casting at 1900 ~ 2000 ℃, fused cast brick containing zrO233% can be obtained. On this basis, using partially desiliconized zircon sand as raw material, fused cast bricks containing 36% to 41% of ZrO2 can be prepared.
 
The petrographic structure of fused brick is composed of the eutectoid of corundum and zirconite and glass phase. From the perspective of phaseology, it is the eutectoid of corundum and zirconite phase. The glass phase is filled between their crystals.
