Alteration of fused zirconium corundum brick in glass kiln

The fused cast zirconia corundum (AZS) bricks are mostly used in high temperature parts of the kiln and in areas where the glass liquid is seriously eroded. The different brick models are usually marked by the amount of ZroZ.

 

The brick is mainly composed of two crystal phases and a glass phase of a corundum and multiple pieces of stone. The oblique zircon is eutectic with a-corundum, and the rest is free.
